Behind the Scenes: Preparing for Our First Ever Bristol Pride Performance 🌈

There’s something truly special about preparing for a performance. While the audience sees just a few minutes on stage, those moments are built on weeks of hard work, laughter, teamwork and determination behind the scenes.

This year marks a huge milestone for D FOR DANCE Academy as we prepare for our very first performance at Bristol Pride 2026. We couldn’t be prouder of our six wonderful dancers, who have embraced every rehearsal with enthusiasm and dedication.

Every Rehearsal Counts

Over the past few weeks, our dancers have been learning new choreography, refining their technique and practising performance skills. From remembering formations to dancing confidently with big smiles, each rehearsal has helped them grow—not just as dancers, but as individuals.

For many of our performers, this will be their first time dancing on such a large public stage. It’s been wonderful to watch their confidence blossom as they’ve encouraged one another and celebrated each other’s progress.

At D FOR DANCE Academy, we believe that every rehearsal is about more than simply getting the steps right. It’s about developing resilience, teamwork, focus and the confidence to perform in front of an audience.

Costume Fittings – Bringing the Performance to Life

One of the most exciting parts of preparing for a show is, of course, trying on the costumes!

Seeing the dancers dressed in their performance outfits always makes everything feel real. The costumes help bring the routine to life and add an extra touch of excitement as the children begin to imagine themselves performing on stage.

There were plenty of smiles (and a few happy twirls!) as everyone got ready for the big day.

Mini Movers – Liliana 🌸
Our beautiful fairy is ready to spread her wings! Liliana looked absolutely magical in her costume as she prepared for her very first Bristol Pride performance. We can’t wait to see her confidence shine on stage. ✨🧚

The Final Rehearsal

Our final rehearsal brought everything together.

With costumes ready and the music playing from beginning to end, the dancers performed the complete routine with growing confidence and energy. It was wonderful to see how much they had improved since our very first rehearsal.

The children listened carefully, supported each other and performed with fantastic enthusiasm. We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved together.

More Than Just a Performance

Although performing on stage is incredibly exciting, the greatest achievement has been seeing the friendships, teamwork and confidence that have developed throughout the rehearsal process.

Every child has challenged themselves, tried something new and contributed to making this performance a success.

Whether they have danced for years or are stepping onto a stage for the first time, each performer has something to celebrate.

We Can’t Wait for Bristol Pride!

We’re so excited to represent D FOR DANCE Academy at Bristol Pride 2026 and celebrate diversity, inclusion and community through dance.

A huge thank you goes to all of our wonderful parents for your encouragement, support and commitment in bringing your children to rehearsals and cheering them on every step of the way. We simply couldn’t do it without you.

This performance is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to create many more exciting opportunities for our dancers in the future.

See you at Bristol Pride! 🌈💛
